Fundamentals of Concrete Technology (Concrete Cert.)
About: Developed by an Irish Concrete Society education sub-committee this 3 half day course will give delegates an introduction to concrete technology covering major topics and themes. The course content has been developed
Who is the course aimed at: Generally all who are supervising concrete works or concrete design / specification will find this course useful. Foremen, engineers both site and consulting at the graduate engineer to project engineer levels and architectural technologist. Ready mixed concrete quality control and technical staff. Precast concrete quality control and technical staff.
Course Delivery: The course is delivered by a volunteer group of industry experts.

Concrete Technology and Construction Stage 1 Exam: Delegates have the option of proceeding to take the Institute of Concrete Technology’s (I.C.T.) CT&C Stage 1 exam. Delegates who are successful in the CT&C Stage 1 exam are eligible for ICT Technician membership and use the associated designatory letters TechICT. The exam is held under strict ICT examination rules, invigilated by a senior member of the academic community and assisted by the Society’s EO. Scripts are sealed and sent directly to the ICT for marking.

About: Developed by an Irish Concrete Society education sub-committee this half day course will give delegates basic but essential information on concrete materials and properties including the requirements for ordering and delivery of readymixed concrete.
Who should attend: This course has been specifically designed and developed for the “concrete worker”, those who are responsible for receiving, transporting, placing and finishing concrete after its arrival on site or in precast production.
The course would also be of benefit to those who transport readymixed concrete and to those who receive orders and dispatch the concrete.
Course Content: Developed by an Irish Concrete Society established industry representative user group.
- Part 1 – Materials, Properties and Reinforcement
- Part 2 – Ordering, Production, Delivery and Formwork
- Part 3 – Placing, Compacting and Finishing
- Part 4 – Curing, Production and Joints
Followed by multiple choice question test.
The course is delivered nationally by an Irish Concrete Society approved trainer.
The Concrete Ticket test:
Delegates who are successful in the concrete ticket multiple choice question test will receive a concrete ticket photo card, which will be valid for 5 years.
